STATEMENT
Anita has been working for EverGreene since 2008 as art conservator on various conservation and restoration projects including conservation and restoration of murals at 30 Rockefeller Center, American Museum of Natural History in New York and EEOB in Washington, DC.
CAREER HIGHLIGHTS
Anita Flejter was born in 1976, in Poland, She has been painting and drawing since childhood. She gained her Printmaker Diploma in High School in Lomza, Poland and Master Degree at Academy of Fine Arts in Krakow, Poland. In November 2004 she immigrated to the U.S. and completed printmaking course at National Academy of Fine Arts in New York as well as Art Appraising Course at NYU. She is a full time artist and art conservator currently involved in “American Progress” restoration project at Rockefeller Center in New York, NY.
The artist’s work has been featured in many exhibitions throughout the U.S., Europe and Asia including those at the Cekirdek Art Gallery in Istanbul, TURKEY; ALISAR Art Gallery in Warsaw, Poland; Alameda Historical Museum in Oakland, CA; Peninsula Museum of Art in Belmont CA; Cork Gallery and Audubon Artists Exhibition in New York, NY. In addition, Flejter’s works were the subject of several one-person exhibitions, mainly in New York.
Anita Flejter was awarded twice as one of the finalist of Art & Bussiness (Polish issue) Painting of the Year Competition (2002 and 2003). From National Academy of Fine Arts in New York she was distinguished with Ogden Pleissner School Scholarship and Lilian Bogart School Scholarship. In 2006 she was serving as SHTOOKA Gallery Director.
Her work has been published in Magazine.ART, Summer-Fall 2005, The Albuquerque Tribune, November 18th, 2005, “An Evening of Odds” – published issue (2205), Reflections, vol. II and Polish newspapers: Nowy Dziennik, Kurier Plus, Super express, Centrum, Tygodnik Polonijny. She has also been twice the topic of a program “Art mania” in RYTM Radio and “Art weekend” in Polish Radio New York.
